How to useShow guide ▾

1. Write JavaScript

Code goes in the JavaScript tab. The HTML and CSS tabs are optional, for code that uses the page.

2. Run it

Press Run ❯ or Ctrl/⌘+Enter. Output shows the console; Preview shows the page.

3. Read errors

Uncaught errors appear in red with the JavaScript line they came from. Promise rejections are reported too.

4. Keep it

Your code autosaves in this browser. Share copies a link that opens it; Download saves one index.html file. Drag the divider to resize, or Stack the panes.

FAQ

›Which JavaScript version is supported?

Whatever your browser supports — in current browsers that's modern JavaScript: let/const, arrow functions, classes, async/await, optional chaining and more. Node.js modules like fs aren't available.

›Can I use top-level await or import?

The code runs as a classic script, so wrap await in an async function. To use modules, add <script type="module"> in the HTML tab.

›Is my code sent to a server?

No. Your code runs in your browser, inside a sandboxed frame, and is saved only in this browser's local storage. Share links keep the code in the part of the URL after #, which browsers don't send to servers.

›Why doesn't localStorage or document.cookie work in the result?

The result runs in a sandbox with its own origin, so it can't touch this site's storage. That keeps shared links safe to open; use variables instead while you experiment.
